Represent

An open city, a basketball hoop on the corner, and a name nobody knows yet.

What it is

A street sports game set in an open city. You land on a block, and what's around you is what there is to do — a hoop on the corner, a stretch of street long enough to race on, a dojo. Win at things and the city starts to know who you are.

There's no menu of levels. The activities are objects in the world, and getting better at them is the progression.

The city is the menu

Most open-world games ask you to find the fun. This one puts a play beat about twenty seconds from the start and a stated goal right after it, because a browser game doesn't get a second chance to be interesting.

The districts are big, but the block you land on has everything you need to understand the game.

Build Log

  1. Added the sprint race system, and a deep pass in Hoops that changes what defenders have to cover.

  2. Rebuilt the navigation arrow. The old maths pointed you correctly at one target and walked you steadily away from seven others — a bug you can only find by following it and noticing you're getting farther away.

  3. Fixed an opening screen that reported itself as loaded while still showing its own loading text. Every check reported it healthy; the screen was frozen.
